UO Art in Portland

Students can earn an advanced degree in Digital Arts from the Department of Art at UO in Portland located at the White Stag Block in Old Town/Chinatown.  Digital Arts is one of several School of Architecture and Allied Arts programs that share interdisciplinary goals and experiences at the White Stag Block.

Contemporary media practice involves a rigorous investigation of, and engagement with, continually evolving technologies.  The Digital Arts Program encourages students to combine an understanding of the theoretical discourses of new media and visual arts with a strong technical sophistication, a rich sense of visual design, and an ability to articulately express themselves as artists.  The UO in Portland program emphasizes creative thinking and experimentation.  Students are encouraged to explore connections between art and industry combining real world experience and cutting edge technical resources.

Portland’s creative services industry is a rapidly expanding presence in the city and one of its prime economic development objectives.  The UO Digital Arts Program is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, the Northwest Commission on Colleges, and the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education.
