Much of my art practice involves developing intimate small-scale sculptural objects, which to varying degree reference the human body. I work with ideas of death, decay, hesitation, and wonder. Through the use of both kinetic and still objects, I have begun an exploration of how the viewer might experience the 'tension' in a still object and the allusion of death in a moving object.
I am interested in the sterile gallery environment, which detaches objects from the outside world. I further decontextualize my art work, stripping it down always to what I feel are the essential elements. The visual clarity I find exciting and challenging, allowing the viewer his or her own interpretations to my work.
