ARTF 253 Off-Loom Textiles (3-5 R)
An introductory fibers studio course exploring fiber contsruction such as basketry, crochet, netting or fabric piecing and embellishment such as patchwork, applique, stitching. Topics vary. R three times for a maximum of 20 credits.

ARTF 267 Weaving (3-5 R)
Introduction to weaving on 4-shaft floorloom. Experimentation with a variety of fibers, pattern weave, and tapestry. Topics vary term. R three times for a maximum of 20 credits.

ARTF 358 Natural Dyeing (3-5 R)
Explore color through natural dyes on natural fibers. Students learn to identify and responsibly gather dyestuffs from the environment. Use traditional dyestuffs like indigo, cochineal, madder and logwood. R three times for a maximum of 20 credits.

ARTF 456/556 Advanced Fibers (3-5 R)
Further explore both fiber and fabric techniques on and off-loom. Emphasizes design, honing skills, critical review, and the development of personal expression. Textile history and contemporary issues are addressed. Floorloom, AVL Computer loom and Jacquard. Prereq: ARTF 253, 267 or equivalent. R three times for a maximum of 20 credits.

ARTF 458/558 Textile Printing (3-5R)
Dyeing and dye processes that explore pattern design and cloth embellishment. Includes block printing, stamping, stenciling, quilting, resist techniques. Focuses on creative work. ARTF 358 recommended.
